Daylight is very short this time of year, and usually in the UK, those few hours are filled with grey skies, rain and maybe the odd flurry of snow. And as much as I’d like to jet off to the Caribbean, my bank account won’t allow me. So instead, I’ve been using some of my fav products to give my skin a little glow.
Christmas parties are a distant memory and bikini season is still a while away (thank goodness as my body is still feeling the effects from roast potato season), but that doesn’t mean you can’t have glowing skin for YOU. Often if I feel that if I look half decent on the outside, the inner girl boss in me is like YOU GOT THIS. DOVE DERMA SPA SUMMER REVIVED has been a long standing fav of mine and it is currently my best pal when I’ve forgotten what the sun actually looks like. (It’s kinda yellowy and bright, right?)
As I’m lazy, fake tan can be too much effort for me to do on a daily basis and I’d rather use it if I’m going “out out” (which is probably once a year). This body lotion works as a gradual tanner. I tend to use it ever 3-4 days (or more frequently if I want a darker tan, faster). In between, I use a normal body lotion which helps keep the glow on your skin looking tip-top as well as your body feeling silky smooth in the dry-skin nightmare that is the winter. It is available in 2 shades as well as one with a shimmer for an extra glow.

BENEFIT’S HOOLA BRONZER is a make-up staple for me, especially in the winter. It’s a matte bronzer, so is more natural looking than shimmery bronzers and therefore works well in winter when you haven’t seen the sun since last August. It’s a fairly dark bronzer, so if you are looking for something a little more subtle, HOOLA LITE is a pretty marvellous lighter version of the product which is becoming equally as popular.
The bronzers come with a little brush which is actually half decent if you want to do a bit of a contour. (I’m not fancy enough to use an ACTUAL contour kit and don’t really know how, so I just stick a bit of a matte bronzer in the hollows of my cheekbones and hope for the best.)
You can also use it all over your face to warm it up without going for a full on Ibiza Ocean Beach Club make-up look.
Also, it’s important to mention that these little boxed bronzers last FOREVER. I got mine in Christmas 2016 and used it nearly every day for a year and I’m only just reaching the bottom now.

To completely contrast a natural bronzed look, sometimes you just wanna shine and glow. You’re going to look healthy if you cheekbones and cupid’s bow are looking brighter than a diamond in a Tiffany engagement ring. It is a little more on the pricey side, but well worth the investment. And, you get 4 highlighters in the palette, so if you think of it that way, it’s practically a bargain.
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS SUN DIPPED GLOW KIT is probably one of the most beautiful pieces of make-up I have ever owned. And in case you were stressing about shipping costs, THEY NOW HAVE A UK WEBSITE.
They have 2 darker and 2 lighter shades which means any skin tone could use and love this palette. The shade Moonstone is defo one of my favourite highlighter shades of all time, as it turns my normal (very basic) make-up into a glowing dream (which also distracts from my awfully applied winged eyeliner). I’m not beauty guru, I’ll tell you that. But to me an amazing highlighter can make the world of difference to your make-up.

So until your next sunny holiday or the 2 hot days of summer we get in England each year, you can keep glowing regardless.
