Long time no beauty blog post. I feel like I tend to share a lot of my fav beauty/skincare products on my Instagram stories, but I thought this would give me a chance to go a bit more in depth about the products I’m loving right now.
My skincare routine changes a LOT throughout the year with the different seasons and depending on how my skin is feeling. But this January these are the products I’ve reached for again and again.
Some of these products have been gifted and some have been bought with my own money. Regardless, I am only sharing things I genuinely use on a regular basis and would re-purchase in the future.
Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance
This is my holy grail winter moisturiser. My skin generally tends to be on the drier side, but in winter in particular it craves something deeply moisturising. And this product does just that. It is nice and thick but easily absorbs into the skin without it leaving your face feeling greasy (because nobody wants that). My make-up sits well on top of it and I don’t feel like my skin dries out during the day if I apply a generous amount in the morning.
Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum
Defo the boujiest thing in my routine (in fact probably in my skincare history) but I have genuinely noticed a difference to my eye area so sometimes it is worth splashing the cash.
I’ve generally been opposed to “miracle serums” as I don’t think they exist.
But that aside, this is a b-e-a-u-tiful product to apply to the skin and I have noticed a difference. I live with permanent dark circles under my eyes and I have to use an entire stick of concealer to hide them. But I have been very pleasantly surprised that my previous panda eyes are appearing brighter and the skin feels plumper and firmer. It’s super light weight and the applicator makes it easy to apply a small amount at a time so you don’t waste too much of the product.
Bioderma Sensible H2O Make-up Removing Micelle Solution
I change up what I use to remove my make-up depending on how my skin is feeling or if I’m away or at home. I can be lazy when it comes to removing make-up (which I know is one of the most crucial parts of skincare) so I need something which is quick and easy and this product has answered my wishes. My make-up comes off so easily without having to rub or scrub my skin, so much so, that I’ve not even been tempted to reach for a lazy make-up wipe after a night out.
I have really sensitive eyes and a lot of cleansers don’t agree with them so I have to remove my eye make-up separately which can be annoying and LONG (told you, lazy). But this is so gentle on my eyes and I’ve had no issues with it. What I really like is how clean my skin feels afterwards.
Make-up free, fresh and ready for bed!
Lush Eau Roma Toner Water
I feel like I’ve spoken about this product before, but I have been obsessed with it since I worked at Lush several years ago.
I sometimes like to use this after I’ve taken off my make-up with a cotton pad to remove any final dregs of foundation (because there is always a tiny bit still on there somehow). The rose water helps to reduce redness which I find I have a lot more of during the colder months. It also contains lavender water which is super soothing on the skin and helps me to feel relaxed and calm before I go to bed.
I also like to sometimes start my day with a quick spritz on my face. The spray helps to wake me up but also feels calming on the skin.
Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Cleanser
I wash my face with this after removing my make-up and it leaves my skin feeling clean without drying it out. I’ve noticed that when I use this before I go to sleep, my skin feels more hydrated when I wake up.
I currently have a travel size (which was perfect to take with me when I went to Belgium in December), so I have been using this as well as my usual Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel, which gives your face more of a fresh feeling as opposed to moisturising. But I think towards the end of the year I would buy the full size Intensive Moisture Cleanser for the months when my skin needs that little bit of extra hydration.
